TechLife Adventures is a personal blog run by Vinod Kurien Alex, sharing insights on software engineering, AI, and technology. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we collect.

  • This is voluntary and used solely to send you blog updates

2. Automatically Collected Information

Cookies and Tracking Technologies:

  • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (pages viewed, time spent, traffic sources)
  • Google AdSense: We display ads via Google AdSense, which may use cookies to serve personalized advertisements based on your interests
  • These services may collect IP addresses, browser type, device information, and browsing behavior

Log Data:

  • Your browser automatically sends log data including IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and timestamps
  • This helps us diagnose technical issues and understand traffic patterns

3. Interactive Tools and Games

Most tools on this site (calculators, converters, the readability and headline checkers) run entirely in your browser and send nothing to our servers. A few tools offer AI features that do send data, and only when you use them:

  • Image Metadata & AI Analyzer (default Google Gemini option): the image you choose is sent through our server to Google's Gemini API to generate a caption and tags. The image itself is not stored. We log basic request details: image size and type, response time, your IP address and browser user agent, and the generated caption and tags. We use these logs to monitor usage, prevent abuse and fix errors.
  • Prompt Optimizer (default free option): your prompt is sent through our server to Groq to generate the rewritten prompt. If Groq is busy or unavailable, the same request is sent to Google's Gemini API instead. We do not store the prompt text. We log request details (prompt length, response time, IP address and browser user agent), also when you use the Gemini option with your own API key.
  • Your own API keys and local models: if you enter your own OpenAI or other API key, or use a local model (Ollama, LM Studio), the request goes directly from your browser to that provider or to your own computer. It does not pass through our server, and we never store your API key.
  • Game leaderboards: if you submit a score, we store the display name you enter, the score, the game and the time of submission, and show them publicly on the leaderboard. Use a nickname rather than your real name if you prefer.

Free usage limits: the free AI features run on our own free-tier API keys, which are shared by all visitors. To keep them available, each visitor (identified by IP address) can make a limited number of free AI requests per tool per day. We count these using the request logs described above.

Google's free tier: our default AI features use Google's free Gemini API tier. Under Google's terms for that tier, Google uses the content submitted (your image or prompt) and the responses to improve its products, and human reviewers may read it (Gemini API terms). Do not submit anything confidential through the free options; use your own API key or a local model instead.

To ask for tool logs or a leaderboard entry linked to you to be deleted, use the contact details below.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Send newsletter emails with blog updates (only if you subscribe)
  • Respond to your contact inquiries
  • Improve website content and user experience
  • Analyze site traffic and performance via Google Analytics
  • Display relevant advertisements through Google AdSense
  • Detect and prevent technical issues or security threats
